Literary and Business-Minded Stay-at-Home Parents
|
Meet weekly with other stay-at-home parents (moms or dads) who have an interest in books, publishing and literature and who want to brainstorm how to expand an already-successful literary consulting boutique into a team-based agency. You'll learn about book proposals, literary agents, and high-end publishing consulting, and you'll join a smart team of people who want ultra-flexible part-time professional opportunities without the hassles of having to explain why your kids are your #1 priority. Some people may only work a few hours a week or month, while others with kids in school may choose to work a few hours a day. We will be creative to make this as flexible and family-friendly as possible!

What's New?
-
"Books are another member of the family, and I've always loved writing. I'm on long-term maternity leave and have time (especially in the evenings) to pursue more intellectual activities than pattycake. My background is in law and economics."
-
"What a wonderful idea; kudos to you for thinking of it! I'm a part-time writing instructor at UMD-CP. I'd love the company of like minded moms-- interested in furthering their own literary knowledge while sharing thoughts about better parenting."
-
"I love to read, I love everything about books and often choose reading over any other form of entertainment. I also love my child and any meetup that manages to combine both of these two things sounds like a place I want to be."
-
"I have long wanted to build my business around parents who make the stay-at-home commitment. It says much about a person (strength of character, reliability, priorities) that they are willing to sacrifice to raise great kids."
