About Moms N More

Welcome to Moms N More! We are a group of fun, modern women who are looking for like-minded moms to get to know and to allow our children to interact. Here you won't find any competetive parenting or judgemental women, only awesome moms looking to make friends for themselves and their children.

In our group we place emphasis not only on socializing our children, but also ourselves. Our events are perfect for allowing the children to catch up with their friends while the moms do the same. We love our children, yet we also realize that having a child doesn't mean that you're not still your own person.

This is a diverse group, with our members currently ranging in age from early 20s to mid 40s, and being from every race and religion under the sun. To us, age isn't relevant as long as you are young at heart! Our members' children range from newborn to 6 years and there is always plenty for each age group to do at meetups!

Our group is composed primarily of full-time SAHM, but we do have several members who work part time. We like for our members to be involved in the group and encourage moms who only work a few hours here and there to join us! As long as you can devote a couple of days a month to us we'd love to have you on board!

We usually get together twice a week for playgroups, trips to the McWane Center, Mom's Night Out, and other fun events. Our group is always up to try new things! Our members are not all located in Shelby County, so we try to change our venues so that members who live further out aren't always having to drive to meet us. In our group all members are encouraged to voice their opinions--after all, it's not simply one person or clique's group, it belongs to all of us!

We pride ourselves on being a fun-loving, laid back and drama free group where everyone isn't expected to be best friends with one another, but all of our members are expected to respect one another. Quality of members is more important to us than quantity, and we prefer to have a smaller, more close knit group rather than a large group of mostly anonymous members. This is more than just a mommy group and our members are More Than Just Moms!











FAQs

Do I have to live in Shelby County to be a member?
Absolutely not! While most of our members do live in Shelby Co, and most of our events tend to take place here, moms from all over the area are welcome to join! All we ask is that you keep in mind that you may have to drive a little bit to get to some events.

What if I work part-time? Can I still join?
We have several members who work part-time and it's not a problem at all! As long as you can make it to one event a month we'd love to have you!

Why can't I see the message board and events page?
For the safety and privacy of our members, only members of the group are permitted to view those pages. Once you are a member you will have full access to all of the group's pages.

Why do I have to come to an event before I am allowed to join?
This also has to do with the safety of our group. Also, we are a *Meetup* group, and we find that if people aren't willing to come to an event in order to join that chances are they won't be active members of the group.

Do I have to attend every event?
Of course not! We have at least one event a week, usually two, and our members are required to attend at least one event per month. There are, of course, exceptions to this rule, but we do prefer our members to come to one meetup a month.

Why do members have to pay fees?
Meetup charges us a monthly fee to be on the website, so our dues go to cover that. We use the leftover money to buy things for the group. Pizza, crafts for the kids, etc.
